Every week the folks at Prime Pool do a fantastic job on our pool in Great Hills. Anytime there's an issue with our weekly service, they work quickly to fix it (though there are rarely problems). Repairs are excellent and only advised when it's clear they're absolutely necessary.

Our weekly tech is smart, thorough and friendly. Last week he was concerned that the guys who filled in for him the week before had failed to notice some algae growth, so he paused his work to ask me if I was satisfied, and then he called them in front of me (no algae, it was just floral detritus).

We were also impressed by the way Prime communicated with us about the chlorine shortage, and their transparency regarding the minor price increase necessitated by that shortage. So after I posted this review I got an email from the owner of Prime Pool. He sent an email I was supposed to have received explaining why the pool service was going up.

The explanation made sense, the hurricanes in Lake Charles last fall damaged the chlorine plant and created a shortage driving the price up. Nice to have an explanation. I can not prove that I did not receive this email but I do not believe we received it. He said she said? Maybe we did maybe we didn't. At least I know why prices went up.

  As a first time pool owner, I had zero experience with pool maintenance. I searched for companies around town that offered maintenance services and reached out to several. I ended up going with Prime Pool Service because they were extremely quick to respond, could fit me in faster than anyone else, and were extremely pleasant to correspond with. I've been using Prime Pool Service for several months and the service has been fairly good. I complained about the tech doing my pool so much (and regularly) they finally replaced him with Matt, our current tech. Matt actually took time with my pool yesterday and did what he was supposed to do-empty baskets, empty our bottom dweller and add chemicals to the pool. He added some water to the pool and checked the pump to make sure it was running correctly. These are things I EXPECT to be done. The previous tech spent maybe ten minutes per visit and skipped a large part of the maintenance he was supposed to be doing. Matt is great and I hope he actually stays my tech. Prime was contracted by Pentair to do warranty work on three LED lights that had become defective. Communication with the office and the technician Graham was extremely easy and straight forward. Graham came by and on the same visit replaced all three lights which is a tedious job. It requires fishing the new lights through underground conduits from the old light cables. It also required him jumping in the water which was quite cold (65'ish degrees).

I was surprised at how fast they were and that they could knock it out in a single visit. He cleaned up all his work as if nobody was ever there and he followed up via email afterwards.

I've been on the board of our HOA for over 10 years and we've had our share of pool companies come and go and had to yet find one that at least met our expectations. Well, our quest is done because we are so happy with Prime Pools. We have a half size olympic pool with 5 swim lanes and a kiddie pool which were all built 1996. The equipment in our pool pump house was severely damaged by the recent freeze. Prime Pool not only repaired the broken equipment, but went above and beyond sweeping and cleaning the pump house in addition to replacing other components that would have probably failed during the summer pool season. The met with me to review the options and get to an agreement on time frame and price. The approach the took to get it fixed once and do it right from the get go is going to save us the inconvenience of having to deal with shutting down the pool during repairs and also risking the pool chemistry to go out of whack. But there is more! After they were done with the repairs, we sat down and discussed what options were available to us towards reducing power consumption, improving filtration and perhaps upgrading from chlorine tablets to salt water chlorinators. They provided me with quotes for the work together with estimated power savings. That information will come in very handy as we set next year's budget. As of this email, our pool is crustal clear and I do not recall a time in the past 4 years that it has been so clear. We used Prime a year ago to empty our pool and clean it. They did an awesome job and I was able to maintain it pretty well until all of our recent rains.
